I keep telling my clients that a blog is a good thing — really. But yet I had not quite started my own blog. Get the impression that perhaps my credibility was at stake? It’s not that I didn’t believe it, just that it takes time to set up a blog and then actually create something of value to say.
So here it is at long last and to kick off, I thought I’d throw in my two cents as to why I think blogs can have value to customers and therefore for a business.
- If you take the time to actually create some value then it gives the reader (and potential customer) an insight into who is this person/company and how they do what they do. In other words it can build trust. For some products or services building trust might be more important than others but it is still important
- Its a relatively easy way to add new content to your web site.
- Search engines like regular new content to it helps get your site a better ranking.
- It encourages dialog with potential customers and your professional or trade community. I like dialog as it helps keep me sharp and I learn a lot from other people.
So these are the main reasons I have started to write a blog. Let me know what you think.
