I came across an interesting piece of information today. Apparently for certain non-profits Google will give free advertising in the form of Google Adwords. The criteria is that the organization has to be a 501(c)(3) and cannot be religious or political in nature.

This could be a great way for non-profits to get the word out or to help promote their need for donations, volunteers or whatever. Adwords ads are very targeted. So for example if the non-profit is a Women’s Shelter, their ad could show up on sites that target women. Of course having a good landing page will be critical to converting visits into an action .
